Elite Chef Events began as a dream in 2006 when Chef Terry Port was trying to figure out a way to share his love for food and entertainment, yet not be confined by the shackles of a restaurant. He now brings his vision and talents to the beautiful Okanagan.

Chef Terry Port is the Executive Chef and Owner of “Elite Chef Events” which is a resurrection of “Personal Chef Solutions” that was based in Toronto, Ontario, for 12 years. For those 12 years, he curated beautiful memories and lasting friendships over delicious meals at the dinner table. Chef Terry now brings his catering company, almost 30 years of experience and credentials to the Okanagan.

Early in his career, at 22 years old, Chef Terry Port was chosen as one of the top young Chefs in Canada while working at the prestigious “Auberge du Pommier”, in Toronto. In acknowledgement, he was awarded a placement at a 3 star Michelin resort in the Burgundy region of France. As a result of that experience, Chef Terry Port has been working at top fine dining restaurants in Mississauga, Toronto, and numerous locations throughout the Canadian Rockies for the last 30 years. During his tenure at these establishments, he worked out logistics and assembled kitchen teams as high as 40 to cook for thousands of events.  He has designed and executed 15 course tasting menus, corporate events of 200, fed 6000 guests a day at major tourist attractions, and everything in between! 

On the savoury side of the kitchen, Terry is a Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) which is 3 levels above the red seal certification. On the sweet side of the kitchen, he is a Red Seal Certified Pastry Chef. He has also achieved an Ontario Certified Teacher designation.
